Western's Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program is widely recognized as one of the best programs of its kind in North America. The curriculum stresses an exploration of the literature of the discipline and the development of advanced research skills and aims to graduate qualified professionals with a thorough knowledge of theory and practice in library and information science. The MLIS program provides a strong foundation in traditional librarianship together with an opportunity to engage with innovative ideas and new information technologies.
Four-year university degree or equivalent. Students from a variety of academic backgrounds in the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences are encouraged to apply, Average of at least 70% in the last two years of full-time study, TOEFL ibT of 111, IELTS of 8 out of 9, Western English Language Centre- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, CultureWorks- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, Fanshawe College s ESL Program- graduation from Level 5, Advanced Academic Preparation, with a minimum 80% in all components, MELAB 80 on each section and an overall score of 85
