Program Overview

The M.A. in Educational Psychology: Learning Sciences prepares graduates for a career in educational research and its application to practice. Content courses explore contemporary psychological and educational theories and empirical studies in (a) cognition, learning, and instruction; (b) self-regulation, motivation, and emotion; (c) technology-rich learning environments; and (d) social, cultural, and historical foundations of learning. Methodological courses focus on research design and quantitative and qualitative data analytic techniques. Program outcomes include knowledge of relevant theories, related empirical research methodologies and results, and the application of gained knowledge and skills to design and conduct research related to educational interventions, processes, and outcome.
