The faculty include award-winning, internationally renowned scholars in Social Inequality, Aging & Health, and Population Studies. We also have research expertise in areas such as youth and identity, criminology, and work. Furthermore, they are home to the Centre for Population, Aging and Health. We are active participants in the collaborative inter-disciplinary graduate programs in Migration & Ethnic Relations and Transitional Justice & Post-Conflict Reconstruction. Moreover, our researchers benefit from the Research Data Centre housed at Western and one of the top academic libraries in the country.

Additional Information & Requirements

Four-year degree, in Sociology or a related field, First or high second class standing (minimum B+ or 78 overall average in completed courses in years 3 and 4), TOEFL ibT of 107, IELTS of 8 out of 9 with no individual score below 6.5, MELAB of 85 with at least 80 on each of the sections , CAEL of 70 with 70 in both writing and speaking, Western English Language Centre- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, CultureWorks- successful completion of the High-Advanced level, Fanshawe College s ESL Program- graduation from Level 5, Advanced Academic Preparation, with a minimum 80% in all components
