MA Town planning

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Chile

Program Overview

The program constitutes an offer committed to the cultivation of Urbanism as a discipline considered in an interdisciplinary and multiscalar framework, and from a holistic, critical and purposeful perspective. This approach, turned into an academic tradition,is currently manifested strongly in the Master in Urbanism, referring the student to a progressive complexity when synthesizing concepts from multiple disciplines, and that refer to the different scales of human settlements implanted in the territory. This considers their relationships of all kinds,as well as the cultural impact of their material, virtual and imaginary expressions. The mixed character of the program, academic and professional,is part of this tradition, which has been characterized by the ambition of bringing research and the most up-to-date knowledge closer to the daily practices of urban planning, either by formulating innovative proposals, plans and projects,or training qualified personnel for public administration and professional practice. The Magister is thought of as a space where you can critically reflect on the theories and practices of Urban Planning, linking and giving feedback to academic research and professional experience.
