MS Biostatistics

The utility and importance of Statistics in the study of biological and sociological phenomena is internationally recognized. A fertile field of application is health in all its aspects. As a consequence,the need to train teachers and researchers of the highest level that will contribute in the field of Biological Sciences,Medical Sciences and Health Systems has gradually emerged .It is established on a fundamental axis that builds and strengthens statistical thinking throughout the four semesters of the program. The courses contained in this axis are the compulsory courses,all of a load of 7 credits except for the last ones. Those students who take all of these courses are expected to have the fundamental foundation of today's biostatistics.Complementing these courses an offer of elective courses is incorporatedwith the same depth level but less hour load. These courses will complete the knowledge in the area,but with a plasticity that allows the student to orient their studies towards some particular area decided in conjunction with the academic tutor,who will have a fundamental role in the direction of the student.
