Program Overview

The Master's Program in Biological Sciences aims to train high-level independent researchers in various areas of the vast field of biology. The Program is focused on specific areas,giving the graduate,through the use of updated techniques,the ability to carry out scientific research in various areas of interest.Its creation dates back to 1978 with university decree 7140 and it has graduated more than 400 students,most of whom are now academics at universities and government institutions in our country. Many of them have followed Doctorate Programs in Chile or abroad.The current cloister is made up of 63 Professors. The Program has a committee made up of ten Professors,chaired by the Program President,who reports directly to the Graduate School of the Faculty. The program is linked with other Faculties of the University of Chile,with other universities in the country and abroad and with the Government of Chile through initiatives such as CONICYT,FONDAP or INICIATIVA CIENTIFICA MILENIO.
