Program Overview

The Magister in Sociocultural Anthropology (MASC) is part of the training offer of the Department of Anthropology of the University of Chile and is aimed at promoting an anthropology attentive to the debates and public problems of contemporary society,capable of producing knowledge that contributes to broadening the understanding of the sociocultural transformations that affect and compromise the diverse human groups of Latin American societies.The Master's Program in Sociocultural Anthropology (MASC) is of a mixed nature and aims to train graduates capable of developing basic social research and applied social research in the field of Sociocultural Anthropology that enables them to carry out detailed and comprehensive analysis of the links between the sociocultural order and its transformation processes,as well as identifying,describing and explaining public problems of a social and / or cultural nature that arise in contemporary social life,in order to support informed decision-making in the field of action social and public.
