Program Overview

The general purpose of the Program leading to the Master's Degree in Geography is to train higher-level graduates in this scientific discipline trained to carry out research that constitutes a significant contribution to the knowledge of the spatial dynamics of the territory,as well as to the its management and the use of its resources,for development planning purposes from a socio-economic and environmentally sustainable perspective in the scenarios of socio-natural changes that the country will face in the following decades.The graduates of the program are researchers and professionals trained in the design,implementation,and application of the theoretical concepts and methodological tools available to modern geography for the analysis and prospective evaluation of structures. and spatial processes that are carried out in complex and multi-scale territorial systems,with the purpose of suggesting sustainable decisions in the areas of the environment,planning and management of territorial resources,and urban and rural development.
