Medical Physics is an interdisciplinary science that, based on knowledge, methods and techniques of Physics, helps to solve current problems in medicine, mainly in the following three main areas diagnostic imaging (radiology and nuclear medicine), radiation therapy and radiation protection Currently, Medical Physics provides the physical foundations of multiple therapeutic techniques, provides the scientific basis for the understanding and development of modern medical diagnostic technologies, and establishes the criteria for the correct use of ionizing radiation used in Medicine
