Program Overview

The follow-up master's study program History of Art offers teaching of specialized subjects in the field of history of art and architecture and preservation of monuments. The program focuses more on issues of 19th and 20th century art or the role of art in the contemporary world. The second area of emphasis is the art of the regions, religious and ethnic minorities and Eastern Europe. Completion of theoretical subjects will help students to understand and interpret a work of art in a broader philosophical and cultural-historical context. The teaching is enriched by the lectures of prominent domestic and foreign experts visiting the University of Ostrava.
