The branch offers a range of subjects focused on the development of general, database, data-intensive and web applications, as well as subjects dealing with the administration of operational and database systems. In addition to this profiling focus, the field also offers a traditional computer science foundation that prepares the graduate for a follow-up Master's degree. Within the field, a student can choose from two specializations - Software Engineering, Database and Web.

The study branch Software and Data Engineering aims at expertise in the analysis, design and development of complex software solutions, and systems focused on big data processing. The portfolio of courses provided in the study covers a number of technological platforms, from classic, web-based, to modern cloud and distributed solutions. Required as part of the course is work on a large software project where students apply not only theoretical knowledge and technological skills but also team work abilities.
