Program Overview

The full-time study of English philology represents a comprehensive type of higher education at the follow-up master's level and can also serve as a precursor to follow-up doctoral studies (English language or Anglo-American literature). The two-year study program systematically develops practical language skills, provides deeper knowledge of the structure of the contemporary English language in all its levels (including diachrony) compared to Czech, introduces students to modern English and American literature (and literary criticism) and provides a broader overview of Anglo-American realities . In practical language, graduates are expected to reach level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. A fixed part of the studies are systematically diversified optional seminars, in which students deepen their basic knowledge in the field according to their individual choice. During the study, interactive teaching methods are applied and students are guided to work independently. Field of study is possible
