Program Overview

Environmental geography is a modern scientific discipline that examines the functional and spatial relationships between individual components of the landscape. It also deals with human interaction with the landscape sphere, so it has huge application potential. As part of the Landscape Protection and Creation specialization, physical-geographical disciplines are connected with biological and ecological sciences. During your studies, you will get a comprehensive theoretical education within the sub-components of the landscape and thus acquire the ability of landscape synthesis. You will then be able to use it in solving various types of landscape ecological problems in landscape planning and management, for example in the area of ecosystem services or landscape adaptation to global environmental changes. You will find out what are the pitfalls of landscape management, not only in general, but also in specific environments (river landscape, mountain areas, post-industrial landscape).
