Program Overview

The graduate will acquire knowledge of foreign language at C2 level (productive and receptive competence) according to CEFR for languages; the ability to analyze and interpret the artwork in a cultural-historical context and to choose the appropriate concept and method of translation; ability to translate demanding journalistic and professional texts from a foreign language into Czech and vice versa; ability to translate fiction and audiovisual texts (film subtitles, dialogue lists, etc.) into Czech; good knowledge of terminology and genre-stylistic conventions of written expressions in domestic and foreign culture, especially in the fields of economics, law and international relations; basic familiarity with terminology and style in the field of natural and technical sciences; ability to use tools for computer-aided translation and integrated machine translation and information technology for information collection, research etc.
