Program Overview

The course is intended for graduates of a bachelor's degree in Russian philology or a related study program. The follow-up master's degree in Russian for translators is based on the practical knowledge of the language, linguistics, literary studies and cultural knowledge that the student acquired as part of the previous bachelor's study of Russian philology, or related program. In the linguistic field, the study of the language is focused on aspects of synchronicity (synchronic comparatistics), students also get to know in more detail the norm of literary language (developmental tendencies in contemporary Russian), as well as its stylistic stratification, functional styles of literary Russian (comparative stylistics). In the field of literary studies and cultural studies, the study focuses on the issue of correct understanding of texts (hermeneutics of a literary text) and on deepening knowledge about Russian culture in general (history of Russian culture).
