Palacky University

Program Overview

The course is intended for graduates of a bachelor's degree in Russian philology. In the linguistic field, the study of the language is focused on diachronic aspects (language development, Old Slavonic, typology of the Slavic sentence), students also get to know in more detail the norm of the written language, as well as its stylistic stratification, functional styles of written Russian. Already mastered language levels and their corresponding units are viewed from the point of view of their functional use in the text as the highest communicatively oriented unit (e.g. text linguistics). In the field of literary studies, the study focuses on the issues of older Russian literature discussed mainly against the background of the cultural development of the given language area (from the 10th century to the 18th century), and on the other hand, on issues related to the literature of the most recent period
