Program Overview

The follow-up master's study program Polish philology specialization Polish for translation follows on from the bachelor's study program and focuses on deepening language skills and expanding the theoretical knowledge acquired in the previous study. The goal of the two-year course is to develop translation competence in the field of professional and partly also literary translation and basic interpreting competence and to provide an overview of current trends in the theory of translation and interpretation, another goal is to achieve a thorough knowledge of the relevant linguistic and literary disciplines. You will deepen your knowledge of stylistics, the language culture of Polish, Polish phraseology, text linguistics, you will gain a diachronic view of the language, you will deepen your knowledge of the methodology of literary science and modern Polish literature
