Program Overview

The field of astronomy and astrophysics builds on the basic knowledge of physics, mathematics and programming. Students acquire knowledge of classical astronomy, such as astrometry and celestial mechanics, and classical astrophysics, ie the physical properties of astrophysical plasma, the construction and development of stars and stellar systems, and the theory of stellar atmospheres, the physics of the solar system, and the structure and dynamics of galaxies. They also learn about solar physics, relativistic astrophysics, extragalactic astronomy and cosmology.
