Program Overview

A two-year master's study field following the bachelor's study of Systematic Biology and Ecology. The knowledge and skills acquired as part of the bachelor's degree are developed in the spirit of understanding evolutionary contexts and integration of acquired knowledge. Emphasis is placed on knowledge of molecular biology, evolutionary genetics, genomics, bioinformatics and other fields in order to provide students with an overview of current biology and their research trends. These are a prerequisite for good application in research biology as well as practical biological professions. Professional knowledge, abilities and skills are formed by the active participation of students in solving professional practical tasks within the research projects of the department and cooperating institutions
