2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Charles University

Program Overview

Botany covers all aspects of the study of ecology and evolution of vascular and non-vascular plants or fungi. The subject of interest is aspects of plant ecology and evolution at the level of individual organisms and their interactions, at community level and at the landscape level. The organism of botany includes biosystematics, molecular phylogenetics, morphology, and geometric morphometry as a science of biological form. The interaction of organisms involves the study of population ecology using both phenotypic and molecular markers. The study of plant communities is a basic approach to vegetation ecology research. The dynamics of plant communities at the landscape level is studied in the context of research of landscape history and anthropogenic influences in the landscape.
