Program Overview

Medical Chemistry is a discipline at the interface between chemistry and pharmacology dealing with the design, preparation and development of drugs. It includes the identification, synthesis and development of new chemicals suitable for therapeutic and diagnostic use, and the study of the biological properties of known substances in terms of the relationship between their chemical structure and biological function. The follow-up Master's degree in Medical Chemistry is mainly used to complement the knowledge of undergraduate graduates in specialized disciplines such as advanced organic synthesis, bioorganic chemistry, drug design and development, molecular biology and genetics.
