Masters in Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Charles University

Program Overview

Subnuclear physics (high energy physics, particle physics) brings fundamental knowledge about the structure of matter at the deepest level and basic interactions. Nuclear physics complements it with research on matter at the level of nuclear systems and their changes. The basis of the study is a course of experimental nuclear and particle physics, based on an extensive course of theoretical physics, especially quantum mechanics and quantum field theory. Emphasis is placed on methods of obtaining experimental data and on their processing, including effective management of computer technology. With the help of selective lectures and diploma thesis, the student gains deeper education in the selected area and chooses the inclination to theory or experiment.
