Masters in Physics of Surfaces and Ionized Media

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Charles University

Program Overview

The physics of surfaces and ionized environments is a discipline of interdisciplinary nature that includes basic knowledge of the motion of neutral and charged particles in vacuum, gas and condensed phase and their interactions with these environments, with their interfaces and with each other. By combining vacuum physics, surface physics, laboratory and cosmic plasma physics, and thin film physics, it provides the foundation for a range of applications such as advanced material research diagnostic methods, vacuum and plasma technology, electronic component manufacturing, controlled thermonuclear fusion, or space research. Individual disciplines can be studied both experimentally and theoretically, or by computer physics methods.
