Program Overview

The master's program in Asian Studies with a specialization in Chinese language and culture follows on from the previous bachelor's degree. The study is aimed at deepening language knowledge with an emphasis on the written component of the language, with the aim of reaching level C1 in spoken language, level B2 in reading and B1 in writing. In the theoretical disciplines, the student has the opportunity to profile his specialization by choosing from a number of optional subjects in the field of linguistics, literary studies and anthropology, focused on Chinese studies or on other languages and cultures of Asia. The offer also includes the possibility of practice in a Czech or foreign environment. As in the bachelor's degree, compulsory and optional courses led by Chinese lecturers, individual language teaching and a wide range of study scholarships to the People's Republic of China and Taiwan are available to students.
