The knowledge pillar includes the areas of theories of non-democratic regimes, transitions to democracy and democracies as such. This knowledge pillar provides graduates with a detailed theoretical insight into the functioning of non-democratic and democratic regimes. Considerable attention is paid in particular to the development of the democratic concept, typologies and individual types of democracy. The knowledge pillar further provides deep insight into the functioning of political systems, but also governance at various levels in the contemporary world. The listener is introduced in detail to the process of shaping real politics from the local to the global level.
