Masters in Painting II

2 Years NA Masters Program

University of Ostrava

Program Overview

"The intention of the study is to sensitively direct students to find ""personal"" themes and also to rationally reflect and interpret their own artistic attitude. The content of the Malba 2 studio is the cognitive perception of reality, the direction towards free and solid thinking, which is anchored in the philosophical systems of our civilization. Another distinctive feature of the Malba 2 studio is the epistemological method of cognition, critical thinking, and the ability to use performative forms in a work of art. These experiences lead to a convincing authorial expression, or to a conscious crossing of established boundaries. The students are also guided to work with the computer, using graphic 2D and 3D software, which enable image processing of materials for painting. In the master's study, great emphasis is placed on creation in the conceptual range, from bridging the idea of a work of art into formal processing to the very realization of the work in a gallery environment. The program includes exams, case studies and personal consultations to the extent proportional to the student's interest in the subject. The quantitative study plan is fulfilled, taking into account the qualitative development of the student's creative personality."
