Masters in Arts Critical Practices in Dance

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Charles de Gaulle University Lille III

Program Overview

"The course ""Critical practices in dance"" offers a strong anchoring in practices allowing a better study of artistic activities (creation process, performative devices, mediation and reception, etc.). It also helps students to ""invent their profession"" by keeping them as close as possible to creation and by developing - by reading the gesture and analyzing the work in particular - new skills relating to scores, forms of writing, dramaturgical devices and support for creative processes. These critical practices are not only centered on works but also on singular modes of production. They question the bodies, the creative processes, the methods of mediation and reception of the public."
