MA Contemporary drama and cinema

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Poitiers

Program Overview

The CTC (Contemporary Cinema and Theater) course includes theoretical, methodological and applied lessons. It is based on research activity and professional experience.Digital technologies have fundamentally transformed the ways in which films are designed, produced, exhibited, discovered and viewed as live performances. It is not uncommon today to see a filmmaker putting on plays or a playwright accompanying his scenic productions with video productions and image projections. Theater, cinema and audiovisual are hybridizing, leading to the use of new tools, the acquisition of new know-how and the use of new artistic and cultural practices. The poetic, aesthetic, theoretical and anthropological issues inherent in this mixing of forms and practices are at the center of research carried out in the Performing Arts within the FoReLLis Laboratory of the University of Poitiers.
