Program Overview

The Film Studies/Media Dramaturgy Master's degree program offered at Mainz is unique to German universities. Course participants are given in-depth insight into the history, aesthetics and theory of audiovisual media, whereby the main emphasis is on film. Supplemented by practical media work, the program enables students to critically reflect on and reproduce current forms of international media arts. When applying for admission, applicants are required to choose to major in one of the two fields (Film Studies or Media Dramaturgy).
