Ma musicology in University of tubingen

Historical musicology finds its subject in music from antiquity to the present. She begins with the research of sources and deals with music theory and edition practice, notation and types of sentences, genres and forms with the analysis and interpretation of music. The aim is to develop and understand musical works and music cultures in their historical and social mobility as well as in their anthropological, scientific, aesthetic and media context. This results in interfaces especially with historical and philological subjects, but also with numerous other disciplines from the humanities and natural sciences, theology and economics, law and education.

Applicant should have Above-average BA in musicology (subject at least 50%) with a final grade of at least 2.5 or an equivalent degree. At the latest when registering for the Master's examination, the Latinum must be proven. Please make an appointment in advance for a study counseling interview, Knowledge of English and a Romance foreign language, eg. B. Italian, French, Spanish (proof by high school diploma or equivalent language certificates with at least the level A2) and the Latinum, Certified copy of diploma certificate, Certified copy of list of certificates, Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German, DSH , at least with the overall result DSH 2 or TestDaF , in all partial examinations at least with the result 4 or 5 (level)
