German Linguistics examines the German language using the knowledge and methods of modern international linguistics. The properties of German are analyzed on a structural syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology and on a functional pragmatic level. Furthermore, cognitive, social and historical aspects of German play a special role in this course. All of these questions are addressed in the light of applicability across a wide range of professional fields.
