Program Overview

The M.Sc. Earth Sciences is a research-oriented degree program. Based on the basics and methodological knowledge of the bachelor's program, the study program will provide advanced geoscientific competences in the fields of geodynamics, mineralogy, biogeology and exploration. In their master studies, students of the geosciences should learn to recognize geoscientific questions in the scientific context, to collect, analyze and interpret data independently and with appropriate methodology and to critically evaluate and use the scientific literature.

Additional Information & Requirements

Applicant should have Bachelor's degree meets the requirements of the examination regulations for admission to the Master's program, completed a geoscientific or related undergraduate degree program with an overall grade better than 3.0 may be admitted to the Master's program. Important technical prerequisites for the master's program are sound scientific foundations in the fields of mathematics, physics and chemistry as well as basic geoscientific knowledge in the fields of general geology, mineralogy, paleontology and sedimentology, Certified copy of diploma certificate, Certified copy of list of certificates Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German, The courses can be held in German and English. Good German and English skills are expected, DSH , at least with the overall result DSH 2 or TestDaF , in all partial examinations at least with the result 4 or 5 (level)
