MSc in Geosciences

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz

Program Overview

The consecutive Master's program in Geosciences follows on from an initial academic qualification for work in the professional field (= Bachelor of Science in Geosciences) towards a second such degree, i.e. the Master of Science in Geosciences (hereinafter, M.Sc. Geosciences). Through the same application- and research-oriented Master's program, students are taught advanced scientific knowledge in specializations relating to geosciences. Graduates will acquire the core competencies for professional practice, as well as for scientific work in the field. They will be able to work in a more independent and responsible manner in their future careers. The program is adapted to key socially and politically relevant topics such as climate change, resource scarcity and geohazards, and also takes into account topics currently being discussed in scientific research.
