Program Overview

Students of Eastern European Studies choose a major and one or two supplementary subjects at one of the two participating universities. The course includes participation in an international summer school organized by the course. The acquisition and deepening of language skills in one or more Eastern European languages also for native speakers of an Eastern European language as well as a minimum one-month internship in Eastern Europe - or related to Eastern Europe - are also a mandatory part of the course. The conclusion is a master's or master's thesis 60-80 pages and an oral examination 60 minutes in the main subject.

University degree with the grade very good but at least with the grade good for lawyers at least with completely satisfactory, Basic knowledge of at least one Eastern European state language, good German language skills, secure knowledge of English, Information on the required application documents can be found on the homepage of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich: Tabular CV, Copy of proof that you have acquired your higher education entrance qualification, Proof of the required language skills, Certificates of a first professional qualification or of successfully passed intermediate examination and two advanced seminar certificates, Any available evidence of course-specific vocational training, voluntary internships, participation in competitions or similar activities related to the intended course of study Written justification for the desired course of at least 2,500 characters.
