The University of Regensburg also known as Universitat Regensburg is a German public research university located in the city of Regensburg in Bavaria. The university was established on July 18, 1962, by Landtag of Bavaria after the discussions of the establishment of a university in Regensburg started in as early as 15th century.

The University of Regensburg is home to eleven faculties offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and research programs. The faculties include Faculty of Catholic Theology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Business, Economics and Management Information Systems, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Philosophy, Art History, History, and Humanities, Faculty of Psychology, Education, and Sport Science, Faculty of Languages, Literature, and Cultures, Faculty of Mathematics, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Biology and Pre-Clinical Medicine, and Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

The University of Regensburg is located in the city of Regensburg which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The university is located on the shores of Danube River and is close to the city centre and nearby Bavarian Forest. The Handelsblatt rankings rate the university’s department of Business Administration as top 25 in Germany.
