Program Overview

Latin philology deals with the Latin literature of antiquity, the Middle Ages and the modern age, as well as with its impact on the cultures of Europe.The subject maintains close relationships with the other disciplines of antiquity (eg Ancient History and Classical Archeology), with humanities that have a central reference point in antiquity (eg philosophy, theology, rhetoric) as well as with the new philology (Romance Studies , German, English, etc.).

Additional Information & Requirements

Applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree: Successfully completed studies eg Bachelor in Latin or comparable subject, Latinum, Graecum, knowledge of English and another modern foreign language, Applicants who have an average grade below 2,5 (German grading system) need to submit a statement from their examination office that they may still obtain a first university degree with a final grade of 2,5 or higher,Certified copy of diploma certificate, Certified copy of list of certificates, Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German
