Program Overview

The Master's program offers a broad and in-depth study of the structures, varieties and history of Romance languages. A language is the main focus (main language: French, Spanish or Italian), besides a further language (subsidiary language I) is taken into account. In addition, basic language skills and the ability to compare a further Romance language (subsidiary language II) are acquired.

Additional Information & Requirements

Applicant should have an above-average BA degree is expected as a major or minor subject in a Romance subject (at least a total grade of 2.5) for the MA course Romance Linguistics. The admission of applicants with a different degree will be decided separately, This course requires knowledge of a Romance language (main language) at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference and knowledge of another Romance language (subsidiary language I) at level B1. In addition, when enrolling for the Master's thesis, knowledge of Latin must be demonstrated in the form of the Latinum certificate or in the form of two graded notes from Latin and Romance languages courses, Certified copy of diploma certificate, Certified copy of list of certificates, Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German
