Leibniz University of Hannover

Program Overview

Spanish is the fourth most commonly spoken language in the world, spoken by some 450 million people across four continents. After completing the preparatory phase of teacher training at a school, those who study the subject of Spanish Studies in the Master's Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools (Master LG) may teach this language as well as Spanish literature and culture at a German school. Four semesters is the standard period of study for the Master's Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. Spanish Studies can be taken as a first or second subject. Students require a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in the subjects to be taken at Master's level to be admitted to the Master's Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. The Ordinance on Master's Degrees for Teacher Training in Lower Saxony (Nds. MasterVO-Lehr) specifies provisions relating to subject combinations that must be observed.
