Program Overview

hree advanced modules from seven medieval subjects German philology, history, art and music history, philosophy, Romance studies and theology can be selected in the interdisciplinary master's program Cultural History of the Middle Ages. With the help of this wide range of subjects, the students should pave the way to the key competence of networked thinking and open up the various facets of medieval culture. In addition, the modules Auxiliary Sciences of the Middle Ages and Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies must be completed. In the latter, an interdisciplinary seminar and a lecture series are offered.

University degree in a humanities or related subject, certificates only as copies: curriculum vitae, Proof of language skills (Latin; for foreign applicants additional proof of German language skills at DSH level), Evidence of all academic achievements completed up to the time of application, stating the average grade achieved after 150 CP, as well as evidence of relevant study content, Extracurricular activities relevant work experience, internships, stays abroad, etc., A letter of application explaining the reasons for choosing the Master's degree in Cultural History of the Middle Ages, with an individual statement on the profile of the Master's degree and an exemplary formulation of a current historical research question.
