Program Overview

Knowledge and skills are taught in lectures, seminars and classes, as well as during field trips and internships. As a single-subject Masters degree, it has an extensive range of elective compulsory modules that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the subject and are designed to give students insight into related disciplines in ancient and environmental studies to suit their preferences. Practical modules also provide experience of archaeological field research, underwater archeology and work in museums and are designed to prepare students intensively for future careers.

Undergraduate degree usually a Bachelors degree, Proof of a first professionally qualifying university degree with at least 180 credit points, of which at least 60 credit points in the respective sub-course, Applicants are strongly advised to have knowledge of a modern Slavic or Scandinavian foreign language at level A2 of the CEFR at the start of their studies in order to be able to access relevant foreign language literature, This course requires proof of at least the following level in accordance with the GER (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: C1, Attested copies of your educational background certificates such as from secondary school, university entrance exams, academic records of prior university semesters and other university reports and diplomas, proof of pre-check of the German embassy, complete curriculum vitae, an attested copy of your certificate of sufficient German language skills, attested German or English transcripts of all your documents, proof of paid fee for UNI-ASSIST
