Program Overview

The Masters degree in Microbiology & Biochemistry follows on from the Bachelors degree in Biological Science and extends students' knowledge of microbiology and biochemistry. The research-based course is designed to give students the knowledge, skills and experience they will need for a career or a PhD. During the course, students will acquire the tools to recognize biological problems, develop coherent outcome-oriented solutions and implement those solutions. The Masters thesis, which is typically experimental, will demonstrate that students have acquired the relevant skills, in particular the range of subject-specific methods.

University degree in Biosciences has to be proven, university degree has to be completed at least with mark 3.0, foreign students, sufficient proficiency of German corresponding with level B2 of the Joint European Reference system has to be proven. Native speakers are exempted from this obligation, Sufficient proficiency of English corresponding with level B2 of the Joint European Reference system has to be proven.
