Program Overview

The Masters degree in Microbiology & Biochemistry follows on from the Bachelors degree in Biological Science and extends students' knowledge of microbiology and biochemistry. The research-based course is designed to give students the knowledge, skills and experience they will need for a career or a PhD. During the course, students will acquire the tools to recognize biological problems, develop coherent outcome-oriented solutions and implement those solutions. The Masters thesis, which is typically experimental, will demonstrate that students have acquired the relevant skills, in particular the range of subject-specific methods.
