Program Overview

The master s program in hydrology includes self-contained three-week teaching modules on water in the atmosphere, in rivers and lakes, the unsaturated earth zone, and groundwater. These courses include field experiments in which students measure the interaction between components of the water cycle, apply hydrological theories, and prepare mathematical models. In addition to a solid theoretical and thematic grounding in the field, the program includes practical modules with modern computer modeling, data analysis, analytical laboratory methods, field courses, and excursions. The program thus provides students the necessary qualifications to launch a career as environmental scientists. The course of study ends with a master s thesis in which students are integrated into current research projects, thus providing them a smooth transition to a career or research.

Applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree: A certificate stating that the applicant has successfully completed a first university degree or a certificate (or equivalent documents) providing evidence of the successful completion of at least the year prior to his/her final examination in the equivalent studies (with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits) and a complete transcript of records, who have not yet completed their undergraduate degree are required to hand in a complete transcript including a calculated average grade provide evidence that they possess the necessary qualification for higher education entrance Abitur, Language skill:DSH with a proficiency level of DSH 2 or 3, TestDaF with a proficiency level of 4 or 5 (TDN 4 or 5) on all four parts, Goethe Certificate C2, Deutsches Sprachdiplom, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, German Abitur or German as a native language, at least taken a language course at level C1 of the Common European Framework: a passing grade in a C1-level language course, participation in a C1-level language course, evidence of proficiency level DSH 1, TestDaF at proficiency level 3 (TDN 3), Goethe Certificate C1, Certified Copy of list of diploma certificates, Letter of motivation.
