Program Overview

Due to the breadth of the range of subjects offered by computer science and the life sciences, there is a wide range of options in the Bioinformatics master's program. The exact course of studies depends on the respective inclinations and interests of the students. During their studies, the students are in contact with active scientists in lectures, seminars and project internships and are thus interested in basic and application-oriented research and introduced to current bioinformatics issues.

Applicant should have a bioinformatics bachelor's degree, Prerequisite for admission and enrollment is the quality of the degree (currently a grade point average of the Bachelor's degree of 2.5 or the preliminary study achievements and the affinity (content compatibility between Bachelor and Master) of the degree or provisional coursework of the targeted Bioinformatics Master's program, offered in English by obtaining sufficient credits for completion in English-language courses, compulsory courses in English and In these abovementioned English-language courses and compulsory courses, the coursework and examinations can be completed in English. For variant A students proof of very good knowledge of English is sufficient (at least B2 level), Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German, Certificate equivalent to the German Abitur certificate (i.e. A-level certificate) qualifying for university admission
