MA East-West Studies

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Regensburg

Program Overview

The basis of the course is an interdisciplinary introduction to various concepts of Europe, models of European integration and the inner-European East-West comparison. Subject-specific specialization takes place in two individually selectable disciplines from the humanities, social sciences, law and economics from the perspective of an East-West comparison within Europe. By choosing other disciplines, a broad foundation of knowledge about intra-European connections is achieved. Through courses in languages from the Central, Eastern or Southeastern European and Western European language areas, the participants acquire foreign language skills that are focused on professional use. Projects are designed and implemented within the international group. In addition to project management skills, creativity, teamwork and intercultural communication are trained. A stay abroad in Central, Eastern or Southeastern Europe is obligatory for students who do not come from these countries. It can take the form of a language course, an internship abroad or a study visit abroad. All students can include internships as part of their studies.
