Program Overview

The Master of Buddhist Studies (MBuddhStud) programme, offered in collaboration with the Centre of Buddhist Studies, offers high-quality teaching on the fundamental understanding and in-depth analysis of Buddhism from textual, doctrinal and historical perspectives. It further aims to provide training in the practical use of Buddhist teachings in modern societies, and offers a critical review of Buddhism in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the region. Topics include the history and doctrines of the different Buddhist traditions, contemporary Buddhism, and Buddhism as applied in counselling, palliative care and psychotherapy, with particular reference to current scholarly research.

Student must hold a Bachelor of Arts degree of the University of Hong Kong or a qualification of equivalent standard,Transcripts from all the previously attended institutes,2 Referee Reports,A Written Statement of Interest (500 words maximum),CV/Resume,English Proficiency Test Record (IELTS and TOEFL test scores with a minimum of 7 in IELTS and 80 in iBT)
