Program Overview

The Master of Social Sciences in the field of Educational Psychology [MSocSc(Educational Psychology)] programme is designed to provide instruction and training in the theory and practice of educational psychology. Emphasis is placed on both academic studies and related practical experience in the field. Special attention is paid to issues of professional development in Chinese culture and society. The programme covers both theoretical and practical aspects of educational psychology. Courses include psychoeducational assessment and intervention, children with special needs, research methods, applied developmental psychology, curriculum and instruction, motivation and learning, professional ethics and issues in educational psychology, and skills-training seminar. Supervised practical training and an empirical thesis are also included.

Student must hold a Bachelors degree from the University of Hong Kong or a qualification of equivalent standard,. Eligibility for the Graduate Membership of the Hong Kong Psychological Society; and Transcripts from all the previously attended institutes,2 Referee Reports,A Written Statement of Interest (500 words maximum),CV/Resume,English Proficiency Test Record (IELTS and TOEFL test scores with a minimum of 6 in IELTS and 80 in iBT)
