The aim of materials science training is to learn about the relationships between the internal structure and properties of materials1 and to use these relationships to create materials with new properties or structures capable of performing complex functions. Achieving this goal requires a comprehensive knowledge and combination of several traditional disciplines. For admission1 a bachelor's degree in chemistry1 physics or materials engineering is required1 but with the completion of certain credits1 basic courses in biology1 environmental science1 earth science1 as well as chemistry1 bio1 environmental1 energy1 mechanical1 electrical and mechatronics engineering courses are also suitable.
