Students acquire comprehensive knowledge of Czech literature from its early period to the modern age in a European context1 as well as extensive knowledge of Czech grammar and the history of Czech. Moreover1 they are acquainted with the latest linguistic theories1 sociolinguistics1 textology1 lexicology1 stylistics and phraseology. Developing both oral and written proficiency in Czech is an important component of our education program. The program ends with a thesis on a chosen subfield of Czech philology.
