The aim of the MSc meteorology training is to educate well-prepared professionals who have a meteorological approach and a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge in accordance with the general qualification requirements of higher education master's programs. Graduated MSc students in meteorology know and are able to apply practical1 measurement- and observation-oriented test methods1 as well as the procedures necessary for weather and climate modeling and forecasting. They have a scientifically based approach to meteorology and environmental protection and are able to solve both operational and research tasks. Excellent students are mature enough to plan1 organize and carry out higher-level scientific research tasks in all areas of meteorology and climatology.

The goal of this program is to extend the knowledge of BSc level students1 and to learn about different meteorological phenomena1 their driving forces1 and to gain knowledge on the state-of-the-art methodology that is used in the practice and also about climate change and its environmental consequences. Students have to learn about the multidisciplinary nature of meteorology and the possible connections with different other scientific fields and sectors.
