The specialization covers three areas of expertise1 which are aimed at exploring the structure and function of the biomolecules that build living organisms and what happens at the molecular level in cells (biochemistry/molecular biology)1 the preservation of the integrity of the living organism and its defense mechanism against foreign substances (immunology)1 and the microscopic they are aimed at getting to know organisms of different sizes (microbiology). These fields of science have important applied research aspects1 such as molecular medicine1 biotechnology1 pharmaceutical research or biological remediation of polluted areas.
